Artist Bio

Gloria has exhibited widely in the SF Bay Area from San Francisco  (De Young Museum, Minna Gallery) to Santa Clara (Triton Museum), San Jose (San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art, San Jose City Hall,  Works Gallery) and many more in the East and South Bay, as well as in Chicago (Woman Made Gallery).  She has won several awards along the way

After working as an engineer for 15 years, she decided to follow a life-long yearning to become an artist in the mid-1990’s.  She finished an MFA program in Painting and Printmaking at San Jose State University in 2013. The experience of working as an engineer and now as an artist adds a complexity to who she is.   These two apparently disparate and opposite fields, the exacting engineering and the free-spirited art, are reflected in the tension and energy created by the moving and interacting dance of lines and shapes in her works

Gloria taught monotype printmaking at Palo Alto Art Center for several years and maintains a studio at the Alameda Artworks in San Jose.
